A High Performing District!

We received the rating:
“A High Performing District”
This is the highest rating a district can receive. The district will remain a “High Performing District” for three (3) years when the process will repeat.
Great Things Continue to Happen in the Lyndhurst Schools!
The results of our Shared Services Agreements with Lyndhurst Township have become a reality. The brand new front entrance at Lyndhurst High School has been relocated in the middle of the high school campus. This new entrance will provide a much safer environment for pedestrians as automobile traffic will be channeled around the campus and away from the primary entrance of students, staff, and guests. This new configuration will relieve Weart Avenue of the traditional morning congestion by adding multiple drop-off points around the school’s perimeter.
The new Drop-In Center located near the front entrance will be staffed by our twelve (12) month counselor to meet the needs of students and families.
Two (2) new Small Group Instruction Classes located next to the Drop-In Center will better serve our Lyndhurst High School Special Needs Students and keep more of our students home rather than send them to out-of-district schools.
The new Pool will be ready for the start of the new school year and will be home to Lyndhurst High School’s first ever Interscholastic Swimming Team. This Community Pool will also enhance various township programs.
The high school’s Main Office, Principal’ Office, and Vice-Principal’s Office have all relocated to the new front entrance. Lyndhurst High School has also gained one (1) additional classroom as a result of the construction project. This classroom will be used to reduce class sizes or to add curricular offerings.
Lyndhurst High School will also offer Virtual High School for the first time. Virtual High School will allow for more AP and regular course offerings for our students.
All Elementary Schools have been equipped with new computer rooms. Business Computer Applications will now become part of the Elementary Curriculum.
In conclusion, a final word of gratitude must be extended to Mayor DiLascio and our Commissioners for the Repaving Projects at most of our Elementary Schools, Toilet Renovations at Roosevelt School, Beautification at Columbus School, new Fencing at Columbus School and Washington School, and Drainage Repair at Washington School and Roosevelt School. |
