Halloween Dress Code

The following dress code will be in effect for Halloween, Friday, October 31, 2014.  Please note:

  • NO MASKS of any kind. Students are permitted to wear make-up.
  • NO WEAPONS of any kind. Any weapons that are brought to school will be confiscated.
  • NO DRUG OR ALCOHOL references or props.
  • All costumes need to be school appropriate. Students whose costumes are inappropriate will be required to change.  All costumes must follow these guidelines:
    • No bare shoulders or midriffs
    • Short/skirt length must be knee length or tights/leggings must be worn underneath
    • Costumes must be non-offensive
    • Costumes should not depict personas/characters that are not school appropriate
  • The building administration will have final approval on all costumes.
  • We look forward to providing a day of instruction that also allows students to enjoy all the fun of Halloween!

Congratulations to our Newspaper!!
For the third consecutive year, the LHS school newspaper, "The Lighthouse," received an award of Overall Excellence for its 2013-2014 newspaper from the Garden State Scholastic Press Association! The GSSPA's contest is particularly rigorous, so these results are truly exciting! Congratualtions to Ms. Pastor and the entire 2013-14 "Lighthouse" staff!

Fridays are Spirit Days at LHS

Show your spirit for Lyndhurst!  On Fridays, LHS students are permitted to wear LHS team shirts (with sleeves) or any T-shirts or sweatshirts that represent Lyndhurst sports, clubs, or activities with their official schoolwear bottoms.
