Bicycle Safety

The Lyndhurst Police Department has noticed an increase of students riding their bicycles to school and around the township.  We encourage all students to take the necessary precautions and follow all traffic safety laws when riding their bicycles.  However, we have noticed many children riding in a reckless manner on the streets, along with not wearing any protective gear; specifically helmets.

We strongly suggest that all parents review the attached flyer in the link below, and ensure that their children are aware of these regulations and are riding in a safe manner every day.

Attachment: Bicycle Safety.pdf

Our officers enjoy seeing our youth outside riding their bicycles and we want to continue to keep them safe each and every day moving forward!

The Lyndhurst Police Department will be providing bicycle safety presentations and events to all our children in the near future.
