In the event of an emergency school closure, Ms. Pastor will be taking homeroom attendance online. Here are the steps to follow to enter your attendance.
1. Sign in to Google Classroom using your school email address (firstname.lastname@example.org)
2. Between 9:00-9:30 a.m., click on the Attendance Question for that day, and respond to the question with the answer "PRESENT." Make sure to click the SUBMIT button. If you don't click SUBMIT, your attendance will not be processed. Attendance will close at 9:30 a.m. SHARP, so make sure to log in by then.
In PREPARATION for the possibility of an emergency school closure:
1. Make sure you have a working iPad and charger. See Mr. Hyman (LHS' technology professional) if you have a problem.
2. Familiarize yourself with your school email account, which you can log on to by visiting mail.lyndhurstschools.net. Your user name is your first name (space) last name. Use the same password you use to log on to school computers.
My name is Tanya Pastor and I teach English II-Honors, creative writing, and journalism at the high school. I earned my bachelors degree at Rutgers University where I majored in English and communication. I hold two master's degrees from Columbia University, one in the Teaching of English and the other in American Studies. I have knowledge and experience in public relations, law, and newspaper writing. It is my goal to expose my students to language arts in a way that is engaging and interdisciplinary. I am dedicated to seeing that every student achieves his/her full potential in my class.
