Principal's Message

Robert Giangeruso
Principal

As I begin my 9th year as a Principal in the Lyndhurst Public School System, I embark on another educationally, fun filled year school year.  This year as principal of Columbus and Community Schools, I am looking forward to all the exciting programs and events that will take place for my students each day.  The Pre-K 3-Grade 2 students will enjoy learning from their teachers, their school, and making lifelong friends.  Together between the Columbus and Community Schools staff and parents, we will make this a supportive and productive learning experience for your children to learn and become successful students.

This school year, our combined efforts of school and community projects, will occur in both buildings along with our shared PTA of Jefferson School, as we have done over the past 23 years is the Appalachian Project.  This community based project allows our students to help others and learn how important helping feed the hungry and providing items for shelter are for our "more needy neighbors."

Communication between school and home is a very important aspect for the Columbus/Community Schools faculty.  We will take many steps to enhance communication between school and home.  This will take place in several ways so that we provide information to and from the families we serve.

-Communications will be sent home via e-mail/e-mail blast.

-Paper copies brought home by students.

-Reverse 911 for school closings, emergencies, etc.

-Twitter

-Columbus School website

It is my goal to create a positive environment where the students, staff and parents will have a wonderful experience at Columbus/Community School.   I look forward to continuing to build a strong relationship with each one of you.  Please remember my policy--if you have any questions that need to be answered, do not hesitate to call the office (201-896-2074) or send an e-mail to my email address:
