The information below will outline our full remote learning plan. Only parents requesting full time remote learning will need to complete the survey below. Please note that if the full remote plan is chosen, parents requesting to be in a full-time remote learning program to start the school year must remain in this environment until at least October 16th. Requests to transition to in-person services must be made by October 2, 2020, to begin in-person instruction on October 19th.
After October 2nd, students can transition to in-person learning on the following date, (2 weeks prior to the next phase):
o Request by November 13, 2020, to begin on November 27, 2020
o Additional dates to be determined
Additionally, students participating in a full-time virtual program are eligible to participate in all extra-curricular activities, as per the New Jersey Department of Education.
Full Time Remote Learning Plan
Remote learning students will follow the schedule set by the teacher or class schedule on a daily basis.
Students in full-time remote learning will partake in synchronous and asynchronous learning activities. Synchronous learning is interactive, two-way online or distance education that happens in real-time with a teacher/certificated staff member. Asynchronous learning occurs virtually online and through prepared resources, without real-time, teacher/certificated staff-led interaction.
Assignments, videos and teaching activities will all be available through the corresponding Google Classroom for the assigned class and students will be expected to be working on those assignments during the assigned time periods.
Classroom teachers, co-teachers, certificated staff, and/or instructional aides will schedule time to meet with full-time remote students during assigned class time or during office hours to monitor progress, answer questions and provide feedback.
Remote learning students will have access to all of the same materials that in-person students receive (ie. Chromebook, textbooks).
In coordination with the Child Study Team, related services will be provided to the greatest extent possible, following applicable guidelines.

AGAIN, ONLY PARENTS REQUESTING FULL TIME REMOTE LEARNING NEED TO FILL OUT THIS FORM. If you do not fill out this form your child will be assigned to a hybrid schedule at their corresponding school. We will be able to send out the alphabetical assignment to specific days in the near future, based on this survey and staff availability. Specific staff assignments will be sent closer to the start of the school year. Schedules will be fluid from now until the start of the school year, to ensure balance amongst classrooms.

The district’s Reopening Plan is also located on this page also (COVID-19 Info/Guidelines). Please know that reopening is an ongoing process with limited guidance at this point, therefore it is subject to change as directed by the New Jersey Department of Education or as dictated by changing circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our number one priority remains the health and safety of students and staff.
